Indigenous Peoples and allies gathered in London on Friday to mark the National Day of Awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit People.
While some people will spend a part of their Saturday morning watching the coronation of King Charles III at Westminster Abbey, there’s lots more to do all weekend long.
“On Missing or Murdered Indigenous Persons Awareness Day, we remember the many lives shattered or lost, and commit to working with Native communities to find justice, keep families safe and help them heal,” the White House said in a statement.
On Red Dress Day, Indigenous voices urge timely introduction of proposed public alert system cbc.ca - get the latest breaking news, showbiz & celebrity photos, sport news & rumours, viral videos and top stories from cbc.ca Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday newspapers.
