If Twin Cedars’ Brooke Roby can score 220 points next basketball season, she will join an elite club at Twin Cedars in the 1,000 point club. Roby has been the leading scorer virtually her entire career for the Sabers and Coach Trent Verwers tells KNIA/KRLS Sports she is on track to have a great season as a senior next year.

“That just not an ordinary club to be in and her sister is in it. 220 is doable, she just has to stay healthy and keep working at it.”
Brooke’s older sister, Brittany scored 1,108 for her career. Verwers says there are at least three or four other players that are on the 1,000 point list at Twin Cedars.
Coming off a sweep of Tri-County Thursday night, Twin Cedars repeated that effort Friday against Orient-Macksburg on the road. The Sabers girls won 52-45 in overtime and the boys came out on top 46-32.
In the first half of the double header, Twin Cedars’ Brooke Roby went off for 29 points and 10 rebounds. Cheyanne Bruns added another 13, including three shots from beyond the arc. This was the Sabers’ fifth game in seven days, and they went 5-0 in them to improve to 9-6. Head Coach Trent Verwers praised his girls for keeping their composure after a subpar defensive performance that saw their wire to wire lead vanish in the closing moments of regulation.
