An East London doctor who became infamous for allegedly selling sick notes to patients in her practice intends to plead not guilty to the six charges of fraud she now faces. Dr Siphokazi Sokupa, dressed in black and red, arrived at the regional court on Monday accompanied by a group of women who sat in the dock during her brief appearance before magistrate Twanette Olivier.
