Nice to have you here this morning. Great to be here. A lot from the markets to absorb especially the north korea news, this heightened rhetoric from both President Trump and pyongyang. Lets show you what futures are doing after stocks slid into the close yesterday. Nothing extreme. We were both sitting there on closing bell. The s p did close down less than a third of 1 , but the dow did break its ten day winning streak thousand indicating a lower start down 24, nasdaq down 33. And you can see what happened in yesterdays session. Stocks tumbling into the close the headlines started hitting in the 3 00 hour and we did see a little drop there as President Trump vowed swift action against north korea if needed. That fire and fury comment certainly disrupted the market we saw the korean yuan drop 1 , the kospi, stock market there also fall. Our road map begin with saber rattling futures in the premarket have been rising con sering con sern. North korea threatening preemptive strikes against the u. S. President trump threatening fire and fury. Disney anoungs its own streaming plans for espn and other content. The United States and north korea sending Global Markets lower. Kim jong un threatening to order a missile strike on guam now as the president warns north korea it would face fire and fury if it continued to make threats to the United States. Stocks did fall snapping the dows ten day win streak this is not like crossing a parallel in the early 50s. The natural thing to do is to raise cash and thats what people are doing theyre selling stocks that i think across the board so it really doesnt matter what theyre selling. Measure. Overnight in asia, you saw similar concerns as markets in both japan and korea came under pressure the nikkei down by 1. 3 , that is a 2 1 2 month low. Hang seng off by a third in europe, you can see similar concerns playing out there the cac is the biggest loser in the major averages declines of over 1. 25 and for stocks in italy and in spain if you want to check out what has been happening with currencies, the yen has been picking up some ground this morning. It is considered a traditional safe haven right now it looks like the dollaryen is at 109. 77, dollar up against the euro. Also seeing a big move in the swiss franc, seen as asafe haven trade. You check that out this morning, but weve also seen gold a little stronger and u. S. Treasuries picking up a bit as well and big news, disney says that it will pull its movies from netflix and launch its own streaming service, it will take several years to complete.
