A new Māori Health Authority will also be established and will have the power to commission services, monitor the state of Māori health and develop policy. People over the age of 65 and those with underlying health conditions who live in south Auckland will be prioritised for the Covid-19 vaccine, getting their first jabs later this month. On Wednesday, Covid-19 Response Minister Chris Hipkins revealed the long-awaited schedule for the Pfizer vaccine roll-out, splitting the country into four key groups. After border and MIQ workers and their families – due to be completed by the end of March – frontline health workers and priority groups living in the Counties Manukau DHB area will be next, Hipkins announced.
