Park rangers rushed to the scene but it was too late. Unfortunately two young people were in the tent, minors under 18. The tree branch fell and struck them. And unfortunately, they died. Reporter the camp ground is packed with tourists from around the world this time of the year. Many making reservations a year in advance. Upper pines is popular with families because of its Majestic View of half dome. These people did nothing wrong. They were in an established campsite.
