Developing news, investigators believe a gas heater may be to blame for onealarm fire that destroyed a home in union city this morning. The fire broke out around 4 20 at a home on eighth street. Authorities say neighbor saw the home on fire and called police, one person was inside at the time. But he managed to get out safely. Crews were able to knock down the fire within 20 minutes and there were no injuries. New this morning, firefighters are investigating the cause of a vegetation fire that burned 100 acres in the east bay. It started at solano and sasoon avenues in bay point after 12 30 and the fire quickly grew. Crews were able to get the flames under control at 5 00 a. M. , no word on what started the fire.
