KOTA KINABALU: Gabungan Rakyat Sabah's newest coalition partner, United Sabah National Organisation (Usno), has pledged to work with the ruling state coalition.
KOTA KINABALU: Toh Puan Rahimah Stephens, the widow of Sabah's first chief minister Tun Mohd Fuad Stephens, has passed away on Monday (March14). She was 91.
Sabah Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) urged the Sabah State Government to follow Sarawak’s move of changing the term “Chief Minister” to “Premier” which clearly shows Sarawak is heading towards greater autonomy.
Paying highest tribute to the Sarawak Government for successfully getting the change of the term passed in the Legislative Assembly (DUN), Sabah Bersatu Information Chief, Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, said this move puts Sarawak as no longer just “equal partners” with other states in Malaysia.
“This clearly shows the status of Sarawak which is heading towards greater autonomy. Sabah Bersatu recommends the Sabah State Government follow such action that can realise the hopes of our former key leaders like the late Tun Mustapha and Tun Fuad Stephens during the establishment of Negara Malaysia

Kota Kinabalu: Working in the midst of Sabah’s untouched forests is no easy feat but for Simun Limbawang, head of the Inobong substation in Penampang, it is all in a day’s work.
This substation is among the eight located in various parts of the state’s largest terrestrial park Crocker Range Park, which spreads over 46,500 hectares of forested land across eight districts and is managed by Sabah Parks. The park’s main station is located in Keningau.
Simun, 57, who has been in charge of the substation since 2017, said the Inobong substation started operating in 2003 as an information and research centre in the northern part of the Crocker Range Park, with 27.4 percent of the park under its jurisdiction.

HOW does a brother defeat his siblings? He calls on his big brother to keroyok (Sabah Malay slang for “gang up on”) their sibling.
“Big brother politics” has been a part of Sabah since the state, together with Malaya, Sarawak and Singapore, formed Malaysia in 1963.
Take the fight between blood brothers: Usno (United Sabah National Organisation) founder Tun Mustapha Harun and Upko (United Pasokmomogun Kadazan Organisation) president Tun Mohd Fuad Stephens.
In 1964, Sabah chief minister Fuad appointed a Kadazan to the post of state secretary. However, Yang di-Pertua Negara Mustapha refused to confirm the appointment, precipitating a serious Constitutional crisis involving the powers of the chief minister and the Yang di-Pertua Negara.
