âThompson Road is one step closer to seeing more development.
âOn Monday, Jan. 4, the Fenton Township Board of Trustees accepted an offer from Owen Road LLC to buy two parcels on Thompson Road. Municipal reports say the company plans to build an office building.
âIn the purchase agreement, Fenton Township agrees to sell 3095 Thompson Road and a vacant, adjacent property for $415,000 to Owen Road LLC. Both are tax-reverted properties.
ââI think itâs time the township sells the property,â said Supervisor Vince Lorraine.
âThe vote was 6-1 with Trustee Mark Goupil dissenting.
âDuring a December 2020 meeting, Lorraine stated that he wants to improve the Thompson Road Corridor since it is the âentranceâ to Fenton Township from the U.S. 23 freeway. He hopes the sale and development of this property could jump-start more projects and more investment in the area.
