and he just said flatly now. that wasn t litigated it was just a before the committee closed up shop. so they didn t go anywhere. this is a different thing. you get subpoenaed, you have to comply with that subpoena. unless you have some case for why you don t. what would be the avenue,, mary esther with you, by which, theoretically, the ex vice president could challenge this? i suspected either the vice president on his own or at the wishes of the former president, will assert executive privilege. there s a number of different things to then consider. so first is whether a former president can even exert executive privilege. the supreme court has never definitively resolve that, but they have come pretty close, and most recently, about a year ago, almost exactly, in the case of trump v. thompson, this was a case where the house select committee had subpoenaed
control to keep the field narrow. but i do wonder, to the extent that trump is indicted or it looks like he s going to, they re going to have a harder time doing the field now, i think, if people think he might be in jail. someone made a point which i think was smart. the weaker trump looks, that just means you have more republicans winning, entering the race. more republicans entering the race means more likely the tom points because he has whatever it is, 30 40% of the vote solid so if there is a two or three person race maybe they can defeat trump and if it s a 6789 person race, he s got advantage. that s the sort of perverse collective action problem they face into trying to walk people up like you re not gonna get money will tell you. like will tell you if you can run. it sort of like this. it s like, go ahead, feel free to run, and have a great time, do everything you gotta do. come january, when iowa
