Delhi witnesses dip in COVID cases, records 10,489 new infections in last 24 hours ANI | Updated: May 13, 2021 16:51 IST New Delhi [India], May 13 (ANI): Amid the crisis of COVID-19 vaccine in Delhi, the national capital continues to witness a dip in the COVID-19 cases with just 10,489 new infections recorded in the last 24 hours, which is the lowest since April 11, according to the health bulletin by the Delhi government released on Thursday. The cumulative caseload in Delhi has mounted to 13,72,475, while there are still 77,717 active cases. The positivity rate has come down to 14.24 per cent, which is the lowest since April 13. As many as 308 people succumbed to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. The death toll in the national capital now stands at 20,618. The cumulative fatality rate is at 1.50 per cent.

The 13,287 new cases came from 78,035 tests, including 63315 RTPCR/CBNAAT/True Nat tests, conducted on Tuesday. As many as 14,071 people recovered from the infection during the period, the health bulletin said. Now there are 82,725 active cases, down from 83,809 the previous day and 49,974 of them are in home isolation, it said.

The positivity rate also came down to 17.76 per cent, which is the lowest since April 14 this year when it was 15.92. On April 22, a positivity rate of 36.2 per cent, the highest so far, was recorded. The city logged 13,583 discharges and 347 deaths in the last 24 hours. The cumulative caseload in national capital mounted to 13,48,699 including 83,809 active cases and 12,44,880 total discharges/recoveries.
