Antiguan Boxer Gets Olympics Berth

UK-based Antiguan boxer,
Alston Ryan, will compete at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after he was recently awarded a quota slot for the summer Games by the sport’s governing body in the Americas.
This means that the boxer, who won bronze at the Pan American Games in 2019, is the second Antiguan athlete to be assured of a spot at the July 23 to August 8 Olympic Games in Japan. Sprinter

Athletics association head wants more funding for elite athletes

Everton Cornelius, believes there should be a national plan where funding for elite athletes is concerned.
The official, who was responding to questions regarding the qualifying of athletes for the Tokyo Olympics slated for July 23 to August 8, said it will take a tremendous amount of funding to qualify a satisfactory amount of athletes for major games like the Olympics, adding that it could not be done solely on NOC and association resources.

Everton Cornelius, has hinted that once plans continue to progress in a particular way, the country could field a relay team at the 2021 Olympic Games.
