A STUNNING art project showcasing the beauty of nature is now open to the public. The Infinity Forest, created by artistic group INSTAR and helped by Essex County Council’s culture, heritage, tourism and green spaces service, is open at Danbury Country Park. The artwork is a three-metre-tall kaleidoscope which surrounds a Scots pine tree sapling, creating an amazing mirror illusion. The sapling was planted last month to help it establish itself ahead of the full installation. Cessnock City Council has released its draft 2036 Greater Jobs Strategy, hoping to create more work opportunities in the local area.
The strategy projects an extra 5,300 jobs will be needed by 2036, as the population is set to grow to between 70,000-80,000 residents.
The council has identified 16 priorities to grow its economy, including improving education and training, encouraging and supporting entrepreneurial activity, and developing Cessnock Airport into a general aviation hub.
Mayor Bob Pynsent says he’s passionate about strengthening Cessnock’s position as a desired place to live, visit and most importantly, work.
“We want to harness every opportunity available to us,” Cr Pynsent said.
