The Arkansas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church voted overwhelmingly Sunday to let 62 more of its congregations leave, joining more than 100 others that had already departed over the past 11 months.

The Mountain Home High School softball team was able to keep its unbeaten record intact by sweeping a conference doubleheader Tuesday at Siloam Springs. The Lady Bombers routed the Lady Panthers 12-2 in the first game, and the second game was more lopsided, as Mountain Home pounded Siloam Springs 18-1.
In Mountain Home’s overall stats, Gracie Uchtman went six-for-seven with a two-run home run, a walk, a hit-by-pitch and three RBIs; Marcie Cudworth was five-for-seven with a walk and an RBI; Mallorie Drewry went four-for-seven, walked twice and drove in four runs; and Katelyn Hill was four-for-eight with a sacrifice fly and five RBIs. Emily Payne was also able to shine in the second game by going two-for-two with a three-run home run, a walk and four RBIs.
