A severe storm in West Bengal s Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, and Coochbehar districts led to five deaths, multiple injuries, and widespread property damage. Union Home Minister Amit Shah assured assistance to the affected states and expressed condolences. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited the affected areas, met with families of the deceased, and assessed the damage. Governor CV Ananda Bose also inspected the affected regions.
During a launch of the outreach programme in Kolkata on Tuesday, Trinamool National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee spoke to more than 3,500 SC and ST leaders from all across the state and assembly Constituencies on the various modules of the outreach programme. The on-ground campaign will commence on March 15 and will continue for the next 45 days, a party statement said.
