Crime Branch initiates proceedings to declare absconders as proclaimed offenders
Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Feb 6: With a view to tightening the noose around the absconding criminals, who are on continuous run to evade their arrest and face the investigation or trial in the Court of law for judicial determination, Crime Branch Jammu has been acting tough against them by initiating proceedings for declaring them as proclaimed offenders under Section 82 and 83 CrPC through the Court of Law.
Earlier non-bailable warrants under Section 512 CrPC were issued against them for their arrest.
Since these offenders of law have been continuously dodging the police and other agencies by frequently changing their locations to avoid their arrest, need for adopting further stringent measures was felt and action, as warranted under the legal frame work, was initiated by Crime Branch Jammu against the offenders
