But lowlie hing areas arent the only ones in trouble. Saturated slopes are now giving way. The biggest mudslide outside guerneville crosses several roads, and because trees are falling, be several homes are now red tagged as uninhabit. It is a soupy quick sand, impossible to walk through. And some residents have elected to stay despite the risk. Its a little concerning, not terribly. I feel pretty okay. Its worth it. Life is full of risks and challenges, and things can, er know. We saw an elderly woman shouting from her window. Her husband just had surgery. He couldnt walk. We just wednesdayed that rescue happening, as well as others being taken from their home. There were children. We did speak to one of the people rescued a short time go. Here is what she had to say. I opened the door and a bunch of water rushed in, so i shut it, of course, and then we all got out through the window. Im just thing aboutal of the stuff left at the house, the animals, my kids stuff. And many are saying they dont have flood insurance. One of the people from hollister fire said he has never seen this area flood. This just november flowed. Right now, their focus is just getting these people to safety. A lot of flooded homes damaged here. Its so dark that theyre having a really tough time navigates around this road, because its not very well lit. Back out here live, in the distance, we could see a boat, and nobody was in that boat, so perhaps they are still trying to get to the ho
Enjand. I heard initially one lone shot. Reporter this woman lives right behind the suspects home. She did not want her face shown. And i thought main it was a bb gun. I went back outside and heard several rounds together, about five. So that told me, okay, its definitely some sort of gun. Reporter finally the suspect ges down, hit by at least one Police Bullet after officers secured his weapon, hes wheeled away and taken to a local hospital with serious injuries. Thats what our investigators will be looking into, what led up to this individual to go out and start shooting with a rifle. Not only in the neighborhood, but then also at police when they arrived. Reporter and were showing you right now that is a picture of the police vehicle, the suv that was hit by some of this gunfire. The front windshield clearly has bullet holes in it. As for the suspect, he is, as were told, in serious condition at a local hospital. No police officers, no neighbors were hurt as far as weve been told. L
Destroyed a section of the sidewalk and part of the road. Were told that strong winds and dry rot are what caused the tree to fall. Bring in our chief meteorologist bill martin to talk more about all this. What are we looking at here . A lot of too with the trees abandon other trees that may tall over the next week they still have their leaves on them. We have winds like today were going to see rain.
