Warriors hall of famer, Nate Thurmond, is being remembered as one of the greatest basketball players of alltime and a man of grace and dignity to all of us here at abc 7. Thurmond was chosen as 1 of the 50 greatest in nba history. He lost his battle with leukemia. He was 74. He joined larry beil as an analyst on after the game. Larry looks back at a life of an nba legend. Nate thurmond had no trouble living up to the nickname big nate. Born in akron, ohio, Nate Thurmond was a force in college in bowling green, drafted third overall by the warriors in the 1963 nba draft, a big man who rebounded and blocked shots, playing along side greats like rick barry and Wilt Chamberlain and more than held his own against legends like abdul jabar.
