The hearing will be held thursday june 19 th if you would like to attend. On behalf of the commission, i would like to thank the Police Commission for passing dgo 7. 04 which establishes protocols for making an arrest for youth and children. I would like to thank supervisors for their support involving the hearing. We hope you get involved furred. Further. We also hope the board of supervisors take measures on the data distribution and life outcomes of youth with incarcerated parents as well as promoting family and unity and sustained relationships between youth and their incarcerated parents by encouraging enhanced protocols for consideration of a family in sentencing positive, visiting policies in county jails and providing funding house ing and support services and visiting standards for incarcerated parents. Happening and Market Street has produced years and years worth of research and analyzing what the youth people are experiencing and what the needs are and we know what they need and it is time for the Public Resources to be behind this and end this crisis as we speak. If we are not going to take the abundant resources of San Francisco to end the crisis and i think that the board of supervisors in the city of San Francisco can play a vital role in rallying that progress and this has been 115 million on the youth in the country and the reality that it is going to take a lot more than that in the federal government. And i want to talk about the education and workforce training this is the root of why the people are homeless and they are not getting the education and employment. And yes, they are only, 20 percent of the surveyed Homeless Youth need an education, but 72 percent of them would like the further education, and only 79 percent of the youth at Market Street report being unemploye

So, its a kind of default way of eliminating a lot of that asset test barrier. That is the fact that when someone is 65, they still have to meet that 2,000 asset limit to continue to get medical and support. Thats really a problem. We are calling that the gift of the maji. Supervisor mar in yes, these two policies are a good example of the Youth Commission and the starf and i like how you are part of a Broader Movement pretty much diverse from all the neighborhood and you help to bring the voice and power of young people to make a major policy change. I know supervisor campos and avalos had some involvement in that but its important that you have effectiveness in these priorities. Its not just this commission, its tons of Community Based organizations and the reason we are successful is that its a really Strong Community effort of a lot of additional committees.
