League league under fire. How several off the field incidents are damaging the image of the United States most popular sports league. We want to begin this hour in iraq. There have been more air strikes, a real broadening of the battlefield. And an intense new phase in the u. S. Air campaign against isis. American warplanes blew up six isis vehicles near sinjar and launched an air strike southwest of baghdad where militants were reportedly fired on Iraqi Security forces. This was apparently the closest strike yet to baghdad. This one is a first, because it had nothing to do with humanitarian missions. It was part of the u. S. President s plan to get more aggressive with isis. Th u. S. Military has now carried out 162 air strikes in iraq since early august. It is now a little after 10 00 a. M.
