ALBANY, N.Y. â Officials at the Freihoferâs Run for Women (FRW) today announced that the eventâs 43rd edition, which was originally set for Saturday, June 5, has been moved to Saturday, Sept. 25 in downtown Albany.
The event will feature an in-person 5K, Junior 3K and Kids’ Run featuring CDC- and New York state-mandated safety measures. Virtual options will also be offered for both the 5K and Junior 3K. Registration for the event will open late spring at freihofersrun.com.
âOver the past four months weâve been busy planning for our 2021 event. Our 12-person task force, which includes members of the local medical community, examined how to ensure the safety and security of our participants, volunteers, spectators and community-at-large,â said FRW Event Director Kristen Hislop. âAfter much deliberation and an analysis of the current situation, we mutually determined that this spring is too early to safely hold an in-person community event.
