Reopened after a woman was hit by truck while she was jaywalking. Several blocks of sunset was closed for several hours while police processed the scene. Metro says the call came in around 645 and the victim was transported to umc trauma where she was pronounced dead. Were told she was struck in the westbound travel lanes of sunset. And that the male driver of the truck and his female passenger are both cooperating with police. Pedestrian is at fault. Adding there are not crosswalks near the spot she was hit. Two of their caregivers were walking toward this park. Thats when the residents got into an argument with the suspect who was inside of his car. Moments later shots were fired. Investigators say the 20yearold victim stumbled toward the intersection of Greenville Park way and 69th when he collapsed. Prince georges county police chief says someone inside the suspects car jumped out and tried to help the victim. But when Police Sirens were heard, he says that person took off. Now hes asking the community for help. Reporte there was an individual with the person who shot, who saw this and made comments that they were disturbed by it as well.
