WILLIAMSBURG Nicholas Caccamo, a Pittsfield city councilor, has come to an agreement with the Select Board to become the next town administrator.
Caccamo was offered the job by the Select Board over finalists Brenda Lessard, Williamsburg’s town clerk, and Carl McKinney, the former town administrator of Clarksburg.
“I’m extremely excited for this opportunity,” Caccamo said. “I hope I can just serve the residents well.”
Negotiations between Caccamo and the town have been completed, although his contract has not yet been signed.
“We’re very excited,” Select Board Chairman William Sayre said. “We think he’s a great fit for the town.”

WILLIAMSBURG – The Select Board has voted to offer the town administrator’s job to Nicholas Caccamo, a Pittsfield city councilor who is completing a degree in public policy and planning.
While Caccamo doesn’t have town administrator experience, Select Board Chairman William Sayre expressed faith in his ability to learn the job.
“I think he’ll be able to learn the culture, gain the experience,” said Sayre. “I’m banking on that he’ll be able to learn those ropes pretty quickly.”
The unanimous vote took place at the Select Board’s Wednesday morning meeting. During discussion, Select Board Member Denise Banister expressed an initial preference for Town Clerk Brenda Lessard, although she said Caccamo was her second choice. However, Banister ended up voting with the majority.

WILLIAMSBURG Three finalists have been selected for the town administrator’s position.
The finalists were presented to the Select Board at its Thursday meeting by the Town Administrator Search Committee. They are Williamsburg Town Clerk Brenda Lessard, Pittsfield City Councilor Nicholas Caccamo and Carl McKinney, the former town administrator of Clarksburg.
“We felt that these three applicants were the strongest candidates for the position,” said Charles Dudek, who chairs the committee.
The finalists are seeking to replace current Town Administrator Charlene Nardi, who is leaving the job to take a position as Northampton’s finance director in May. Nardi has been town administrator in Williamsburg since 2011.
