GAIBANDHA, March 07, 2021 (BSS) – The historic March 7 is being observed in the district as elsewhere of the country today in a befitting manner with a vow to materialize the dream of Father of the Nation and architect of
independence Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Marking the day, the district administration as well as district and sadar
upazila Awami League (AL) chalked out the elaborate programmes.
The day’s programmes began with the hoisting of national and party flags
atop of the party offices and placing wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The group of journalists covering news about Anti-Corruption Commission in a statement on Tuesday alleged a number of members of the organisation are facing harassment for writing reports against corruption.
“Harassing reporters is nothing but a new strategy to hide corruption,” RAC President Mohiuddin Ahmed and General Secretary Ahmed Foyez said in the statement.
The RAC leaders urged everyone to refrain from such “condemnable” practices.

Marking the day, the district police chalked out the elaborate programmes
to show due respect and honour to their departed colleagues.
In the morning around 11 AM, the police officials led by superintendent of
police (SP) Muhammad Towhidul Islam placed floral wreaths on the temporary
monument set up on the ground of police liens here.
A grand rally was brought out from the police lines and ended at the same

Rubel Ahmed, known among locals in Kushtia, Magura and Khagrachari districts as Helicopter Rubel, was arrested in the capital s Uttara on sunday night by the Economic Crime and Human Trafficking Division of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of police.
Officers caught him after a case was filed with Airport Police Station accusing him of fraud, said Towhidul Islam, additional deputy commissioner of CTTC.
