Gaibandha police distributing warm clothes among destitute people

GAIBANDHA, Jan 6, 2021 (BSS) – District police have started distributing warm clothes to the distressed, helpless and poor people to mitigate their sufferings caused by the ongoing cold wave.
On Tuesday evening, a team of district police led by superintendent of police (SP) Md Towhidul Islam handed over 500 pieces of blankets among the poor people at rail station and its adjoining areas.
Towhidul Islam at that time said the district police are conducting distribution activities of warm clothes on humanitarian ground to save the poor from the cold wave with maintaining law and order situation in the district.
Mujib Memorial Park opens in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Dec 17, 2020 (BSS) – Mujib memorial children park has been opened at Kholahati in the district town marking the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Whip of the Jatiya Sangshad and local lawmaker Mahabub Ara Begum Gini inaugurated the park on Wednesday afternoon.
With deputy commissioner Abdul Matin in the chair, the inaugural ceremony was attended by superintendent of police Towhidul Islam and general secretary of district Awami League Abu Bakar Siddique and executive engineer of Bangladesh Water Development Board Mokhlasur Rahman.
Whip Mahabub Ara Begum Gini said initiatives have been taken to enhance the beauty on both sides of Ghagot River through establishment of various infrastructures so that the townspeople along the children could come here and pass their leisure times with enjoyment.
Martyred Intellectual Day observed in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Dec 14, 2020 (BSS)- The Martyred Intellectuals Day-2020 was observed in the district today paying rich tribute to the martyred.
Marking the day, the district administration chalked out the elaborate programmes in cooperation with Gaibandha Municipality.
Whip of the Jatiya Sangshad Mahabub Ara Begum Gini accompanied by leaders and activists of Awami League placed wreaths at the mausoleum of the Liberation War of the town here.
The district administration led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin, Superintendent of Police (SP) Towhidul Islam, also placed wreaths.
The programme was followed by a discussion meeting held at the auditorium of Zila Shilpakala Academy of the town with DC Abdul Matin in the chair.
