JAMMU, Dec 27: Amar Santosh Museum Udhampur and Himalayan Heritage Museum displayed rare artifacts during two-day Dogri Cuisine, Culture and Craft Festival, organized by J&K Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) in collaboration with Directorate of Tourism Jammu at Kala Kendra Jammu.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Secretary Tourism Samad Hafeez to encourage the tourism in Jammu after beating Corona. Anil Paba, Director Amar Santosh Museum Udhampur said that rare collections, including stone tools, stone utensil, terracotta and copper objects, old maps, historical weapons, traditional instruments besides manuscripts belonging to 13th century onwards in Arabic, Persian, Sanskrit, Shards, Gurumukhi, Takri scripts. RAMBAN, Dec 24: Week-long Patnitop Winter Carnival, 2020 commenced today with cultural and other attractive events to attract the tourists besides enhancing tourism activities in Patnitop and its adjoining areas.
The programme is being organized by the Directorate of Tourism Jammu in coordination with Patnitop Development Authority (PDA).
The carnival was formerly inaugurated by Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Patnitop Development Authority (PDA) Sachin Dev Singh Jamwal whereas AD Tourism Batote Omesh Shan, Tourist Officer Rajesh Raina, Convener Adventure Sports J&K Tourism Department Amarpal Singh and Tourist Officer Batote Zaheer Abaas Naik besides good number tourists were present on the occasion.

JAMMU, Dec 20: Unbelievable it may sound but it is a fact that even after strictures from the High Court, tourism sector in Jammu region is being handed with ‘closed mind’ as no proper strategy has been chalked out to promote areas which fall under the Directorate and Tourism Development Authorities and recently constructed ropeways.
Moreover, majority of the Government entities either don’t have their own websites or the operational ones despite the fact that prospective tourists especially visit the web-pages of the Government to get authentic information about the places to visit and facilities available there.
Tawi Trekkers organise trekking

JAMMU, Dec 12: Tawi Trekkers J&K in collaboration with Directorate of Tourism Jammu organised short trek from Panthal to Devi Pindian, near the holy town of Katra on the occasion of ‘International Mountain Day’.
The motive of short trek was to aware people about the importance of mountains wherein a group of 22 members including five girls participated.
The group led by Vivek Chauhan, Principal of Oriental Academy Senior Secondary School Jammu was flagged off by Neelam Khajuria, Joint Director Tourism Jammu in presence of Ambika Bali, Assistant Director Tourism.
Both the officers also participated in the day long trek.
