Toty Dago Gregoire SURAT: It was a pleasant surprise for the men in khaki when 33-year-old accused of an online fraud racket Toty Dago Gregoire greeted them with folded hands and ‘Jai Mataji’. Cyber-crime sleuths of city police asked Toty how he mastered the Indian greeting and the man named a hardened criminal Lalu Jalim alias Amit Rajput who, he claimed, taught him the finer nuances of Indian tradition behind bars. When the two hardened criminals met each other in the police lockup of city crime branch, gangster Jalim gave his African counterpart from Ivory Coast a few tips on Indian mannerisms. “He is a quick learner and has been greeting every individual with folded hands since the morning. We were surprised when he credited Jalim for teaching this,” said an official in cyber-crime police station.

Accused in police custody Surat: Cybercrime sleuths nabbed a 33-year-old illegal immigrant from Bangalore on Saturday who duped people through his fake kidney racket. Accused Toty Dago Gregoire had cheated a businessman of Rs 14.78 lakh with the promise of getting him a client to sell his kidney. Police investigation revealed that Gregoire offered Rs 4 to Rs 7 crore for a kidney on his website advertisements. Cops used a bait of Rs 4 crore to net the imposter who created a fake e-mail ID that looked similar to Reserve Bank of India’s officer and also several websites of leading hospitals like Manipal Hospital, Apollo, Fortis, Max Super Speciality, Lilavati, Tata Memorial, among many others.
