India reports 3,79,257 new Covid cases, 3,645 deaths in last 24 hours

New Delhi: India saw highest spike as 3,645 people succumbed to the coronavirus in 24 hours amid reports of 3,79,257 fresh cases on Thursday taking total infection to 1,83,76,524.
It was the eighth day in a row when India recorded more than 3 lakh cases and over 3,000 casualties for past two days. On Wednesday there were 3,293 deaths.
The data says that 2,69,507 patients recovered and till date 1,83,76,524 people have tested positive after the onset of the pandemic.

Total Covid vaccination across India crosses 14.5 crore, 31 lakh doses given on Monday
Total vaccination across the country has crossed over 14.5 crore with more than 31 lakh doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered till 8 pm on Monday, the Health Ministry said. The cumulative number of vaccine doses administered in the country stands at 14,50,85,911 according to the 8 pm provisional report, the ministry said.
These include 93,23,439 healthcare workers (HCWs) who have taken the first dose and 60,59,065 HCWs who have taken the second dose. As many as 1,21,00,254 frontline workers (FLWs) have received the first dose and 64,11,024 FLWs have taken the second dose.
Besides, 4,92,77,949 and 26,78,151 beneficiaries between 45 to 60 years have taken the first and second dose respectively, while, 5,05,37,922 and 86,98,107 aged above 60 have taken the first and second dose respectively.

Total Covid positive test numbers and quarantined persons dropped 42% week over week, the Fayette County School System reported March 6.
Last week’s schools Covid report showed 154 fewer persons either with Covid-19 or quarantined because of exposure to the coronavirus. That total went from 362 sidelined a week ago to 208 as of Friday afternoon, the report showed.
The schools had an even larger drop in number of actual infections: 63% drop from one week to the next, the report shows. The previous week, 52 people 42 students and 10 staff members tested positive for Covid. Last week, that number fell to 19 total 17 students and 2 staff members infected.
