ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. New Mexico State Police have identified the Torrance County deputies who shot and injured a man last month in Bosque Farms.
State Police spokesman Dusty Francisco said Torrance County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Jordan Duran and deputy Pablo Arreola shot 28-year-old Joshua Francis of Oklahoma on March 16 following a chase that began in Mountainair.
After Francis recovered in the hospital, Francisco said he was charged with two counts of aggravated battery upon a peace officer. He has been booked into the Valencia County jail.
He said Francis called 911 around 2 a.m. to report that he was holding a woman hostage at the Rock Motel in the Town of Mountainair and wanted to die in a shootout with police.
