Now, i tried to enlist in the service the minute we were attacked by japan but i was colorblind and i couldnt get in. But they had what they called the enlisted reserve corps, which they let College Students go into with the idea that you would serve a basic training and then you would go back to school. Their thinking was maybe this war wasnt going to go too far. Youd go back to school and start again wherever it left off. I went to try to enlist. I was colorblind. Had to go back. Finally i got in the army but i was restricted for what i could do. I went to texas for basic training. I spent 16 weeks in texas. They send me from texas to the university of connecticut to continue my education. Unfortunately when i got to the university of connecticut, i found i had had everything they were teaching. I had already been through. So i reported to them that i was wasting my time, and they suggested they would send me to m. I. T. Thats what happened. They sent me to m. I. T. I did my time at

On here at the staging area. Quite a few deputies are here from Alameda County part of the mutual aid force that is out here for two main reasons. They are going to be going door to door as they to notify people if they need to evacuate. Also, theyre going to be here to provide security for all of those people that are evacuated so that when they do return, they will have homes that have not been broken into. In Boulder Creek tonight a few homes are destroyed. The fire moved through this evening. Cal fire has confirmed 50 structures have been lost in the sprawling complex of fires and, unfortunately, the destruction may be much worse. We believe that it will go to the triple digits. It is just too early to know what that exact number i few mi alan strong is taking a stand against the coming fire, spraying down the roof of his friends bakery all day. Usually those Early Morning hours are critical and seeing some of the fire not spreading as rapidly and were looking at still another morning start where we have temperatures in the upper 60s, not much of a wind, but at times we get these gusts up to about 11 miles per hour.
