Swedish climate Activist Greta Thunberg, on Friday, 19 February, took to social media to express solidarity with 22-year-old Disha Ravi who has been arrested on charges of ‘sharing and spreading an incriminating toolkit’ on farmers’ protest, that allegedly led to the violence in Delhi on 26 January.
Thunberg, on Friday, shared a picture of Disha Ravi on Facebook with the hashtag “Stand With Disha Ravi” and wrote:
“Freedom of speech and the right to peaceful protest and assembly are non-negotiable human rights. These must be a fundamental part of any democracy. #StandWithDishaRavi.”
Thunberg also shared the same message on Twitter, along with a thread by Fridays for Future India in support of Disha Ravi.

Delhi Police have claimed that the arrest of Disha Ravi, a climate activist from Bengaluru, was in accordance with the law. The Bombay High Court, however, granted a 10-day transit anticipatory bail to Shantanu Muluk, a co-accused in the Greta Thunberg toolkit case along with Disha Ravi and a Mumbai-based lawyer Nikita Jacob.
The Bombay HC s Mumbai bench reserved its verdict on Jacob s bail plea till Wednesday. Her lawyer Mihir Desai argued that the toolkit did not have any reference to the instances of violence that unfolded in the national capital on January 26.
Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait turns teacher at Tikri border
Even as the toolkit controversy overshadows farmers agitation against the three new farm laws, farmer leader Rakesh Tikait continues to protest on Ghazipur border on the outskirts of Delhi. The Bharatiya Kisan Union leader turned teacher on Monday and attended a makeshift school at the protest site. Tikait, who has been camping at Ghazipur for past two and a half months, not only taught the children alphabets and numbers but also took stock of what they had learnt in the month-and-a-half that the school has been operating, said BKU s media in-charge, Dharmendra Malik, at a press conference.

The Delhi Police on Monday claimed that climate activist Disha Ravi, another activist and lawyer Nikita Jacob, and Shantanu had created the toolkit and shared it to defame India across the globe on the issue of three farm laws .
Addressing a press conference this afternoon regarding the toolkit case, the Delhi Police said that the 21-year-old Ravi had deleted the WhatsApp group, which she created to spread the toolkit .
