The Indian Express has learnt that a majority of the accounts the Indian government asked X to block were tweeting in support of the ongoing farmers’ protests.
Farmers demanding legal backing for MSP, or minimum support price, and calling for it to include all 23 listed cash crops, resume their march on Delhi today, after rejecting the offer of a five-year contract to buy only pulses, maize, and cotton.
The protesting farmers were seen attempting to break the multi-layered barricades using their tractors and hand weapons. The Haryana police, meanwhile, detained several protesting farmers.
Protesting farmers today began their march towards Delhi after a meeting with two Union ministers over their demands, including a legal guarantee to MSP for crops, which remained inconclusive last night.
Protesting farmers will begin their 'Delhi Chalo' march today to push the Centre to address their demands. Foremost among these demands is the enactment of a law guaranteeing a minimum support price (MSP) for crops - a crucial lifeline for farmers.
