Fight 2 Win put on two fantastic events one after the other last week, with F2W 160 taking place on 15th January and 161 happening on the 22nd. The first event saw William Tackett remind the world exactly why he’s one of the hottest prospects right now by beating ADCC veteran John Combs by Decision with relentless leg attacks from the bottom that really put Combs’ defensive skills to the test. F2W 161 was then headlined by Roberto ‘Cyborg’ Abreu who continued the incredible form that saw him win a slate of awards in 2020 by defeating Tim Spriggs to retain his F2W Super-Heavyweight title. The rest of the card featured a host of elite grapplers putting on great displays, like Aaron ‘Tex’ Johnson submitting Arnaldo Maidana, Rida Haisam outworking Brendan Allen, and Jason Rau defeating Gesias ‘JZ’ Cavalcante.

2020: A year of coming together

While 2020 will always be remembered as the year of the pandemic, it’s also the year residents of northern Rhode Island came together in an unprecedented show of support for their neighbors and friends. Much of this kindness was directed at healthcare workers, first responders and others who faced seemingly insurmountable challenges as the pandemic took hold. From drive-in graduations to socially distanced parades, here are some of our favorite ways the community came together in 2020.

Back in the Day: Paperboys, papergirls of the past share memories
The days of newsboys who would yell “Extra! Extra! Read all about it!” as they hawked the printed news of the day on street corners is something I’ve only seen in movies. By my day, the method that most people received their daily newspapers was by direct delivery to their homes from paperboys.
My oldest brother Orvis delivered the Virginian-Pilot when we lived on the East Coast as kids and while the Daily Republic in its heyday was much bigger in physical size and volume than today’s version, it was no match for the heft of Norfolk’s newspaper.
isn t election interference, so there isn t this kind of trolling, et cetera, et cetera, or they re not telling the truth or, i don t know, what s your impression? is it possible that this firm was operating, tony, and neither sheryl sandberg or mark zuckerberg knew? i mean, it s possible, but really at the end of the day, the issue here is that facebook got caught red-handed doing the same sort of things that you might expect to see a big bank or an energy giant doing in washington. now, some of us look at this and we may laugh and say, of course these companies are hiring lobbyists and pr consultants. but this is still a relatively new thing for these silicon valley companies. there are a little bit of rose-tinted glasses when it comes to dealing with politics. and sometimes there s a bit of a reckoning when they realize they are playing by the same dirty rules that many other older industries are playing by in washington. and i think that s why you re hearing folks like zuckerberg
