Developer Blue Stone Homes wants to flatten The Regis on Reddal Hill Road and build homes in its place. It has put in an application for outline planning permission to Sandwell Council. Built in 1951, the art-deco style hall hosted top names including The Drifters during the swinging sixties. It is owned by Halesowen businessman Tony Billingham, who also owns Lapal House Care home. A design and access statement submitted to Sandwell Council by Wiltshire based Blue Stones Homes notes that: It is likely that small two-storey semi-detached dwellings will be built.

A doctor and nurse from Feldon Lane Surgery in Halesowen visited the care home in Lapal Lane South to administer the jabs to around 30 staff and 40 residents. The privately-run home has been hit by an outbreak of coronavirus - with five residents and 13 staff having tested positive last April as the pandemic took its hold on the country.
A DRIVE-THRU Santa experience is being held in Halesowen and is proving to be a big hit. Little Cornbow street in Halesowen will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland this weekend as Lifecentral Church, Halesowen BID and Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council Community Forum create an opportunity for families to meet the man himself in an innovative and covid-secure way. Guests will drive through festively decorated archways accompanied by live entertainment before being greeted with a gift from Father Christmas, with all proceeds from the event donated to Operation Santa Dudley. The idea has gone down a storm - with tickets selling out in minutes.
