Melissa Walshe creates history in becoming Ballymahon GAA Club s first lady chairperson

History was created at the Ballymahon GAA annual general meeting on Saturday, February 6 as Melissa Walshe was elected the club s first female chairperson.
The meeting, held via Zoom, saw Melissa succeed outgoing chairperson Christy Mannion, who stepped down after completing two separate terms in the position.
Here is how Ballymahon club reported on their historic AGM:
Our 2020 AGM was held online via Zoom last Saturday night - a first for the club. It was very well attended. The business of the meeting was conducted in a prompt fashion and there was good debate on a number of topics, in particular boosting lotto sales and general club development.

The Paul Brown’s Pro Teams: A History of The Browns and Bengals exhibition in the Paul Brown Museum within the Massillon Museum will close Feb. 14. The history panels look closely at Brown’s coaching career and how he helped merge two leagues into the NFL.
Visitors can see photographs of Brown with other football icons and programs from both teams, as well as the AAFC coin flipped at the Nov. 2, 1947, Browns-vs-Buffalo Bills game and Cincinnati’s 1988 AFC Championship plaque.
Complimentary photographs feature Tommy Flynn, the Browns equipment manager and mascot, who provided comic entertainment at games and George Bird’s Musical Majorettes, an all-female marching band that performed at Browns games during the 1947 and 1948 seasons.
