The winter solstice tomorrow is the day of least daylight in the year, also known as the shortest day. After winter solstice, daylight gradually increases until the summer solstice in June.

Sir I write to you concerning an interview I heard on RTÉ Radio’s News at One, presented by Bryan Dobson, about insurance policy increases. Insurance Ireland was represented by a very vocal and assertive lady. She disputed the information presented to her. It irritated me very much.
