There is no irony in Israeli foreign minister Eli Cohen’s response to Taoiseach Leo Varadkar as claimed by Sinead Boland (‘Ironic that Israel’s foreign minister would reprimand Varadkar over comments’, Letters, November 28).
Ours is a country that doesn’t have a national independence day. Ireland got its first leg up the ladder of international respectability in the UN due to its inclusive ethos and sympathy for small nations.
Your story about the “RTE presenter” who will receive €100,000 more than the new €250,000 RTÉ salary cap until 2025 was galling and is most certainly unacceptable (Irish Independent, November 18)
