Daytona State College, nursing programs, $4 million. This includes $3.85 million for a classroom, lab and office building on the Deltona campus, and $200,000 to bolster the nursing expansion that s already been under way in Flagler County. Tom LoBasso, D president, said the money for Flagler County will help fund another faculty member and equipment. What it does is add 120 seats to the nursing program in Palm Coast, and 90 seats in Deltona, LoBasso said. The Deltona chunk fully funds a new building to house a full nursing program, stenography, machining and another vocational program that will probably be HVAC training, he said.

Daytona State College has selected Hope Clark as its new head women’s soccer coach. Clark brings 20 years of coaching experience to Daytona State, including 12 as a head coach at the college level. She officially joins the Falcons on June 1.
“I am incredibly grateful to President Tom LoBasso and Robin Barr (Interim Director of Athletics) for giving me this opportunity to lead the Daytona State College women’s soccer program and I would like to thank the search committee for their tireless efforts in this process,” said Clark. “My family and I are excited about beginning this next chapter in our lives and we are looking forward to becoming an integral part of this excellent institution and community.”
