Morgan was sentenced to three years in prison yesterday in Wayne County Circuit Court by Judge Michael Molt, though the sentence was stayed until May 4 th. He admitted in August to violating his probation for a count of possession of meth. Morgan was credited with 113 days served in jail, and two other cases against him were dismissed. He was also ordered to pay $1,374 in fines and court costs.

35-year-old Khaleem T. Jones was airlifted to Deaconess Hospital Friday night after reportedly jumping in front of a vehicle on a county highway east of Cisne. Police say 22-year-old Brandon W. Cottonaro hit Jones and knocked him into a ditch. North Wayne EMS was also called to the scene, and a tow truck was called to the scene. 54-year-old Burnt Prairie resident Russell J. Pragit was sentenced in Wayne County Court last Tuesday. He pleaded guilty to a Class 3 felony count of possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 24 months conditional discharge and time served in jail. Several other counts and cases against him were dismissed, and Pragit was ordered to pay $2,801 in fines and court costs.

The Wayne County Health Department will hold a drive-through vaccination clinic for prioritized Phase 1B individuals tomorrow. People should enter the staging area at the Wayne County Fairgrounds by its east entrance on West Main Street, and gates will open at 8. People should not go directly to the department, and no reservations for vaccines will be taken. The department receives a limited amount of vaccine for each first round of shots. The CDC will ship second doses separately, and people who are due a second dose will be contacted directly with a clinic date and time. Fairfield police arrested 30-year-old Fairfield resident Feleishaa A.J. McKinney yesterday afternoon on a charge of retail theft. McKinney was booked in the Wayne County Jail and released after being given a notice to appear in court.

26-year-old Kendall L. Einhorn was taken to Clay County Hospital after a single-vehicle accident near Enterprise yesterday morning. Wayne County deputies say he was northbound on Enterprise Road, ramped off a ditch embankment, went airborne over a county roadway, and came to rest after striking another embankment. A tow truck was called to the scene, and the vehicle sustained over $1,500 damage. The Grayville City Council met last night and discussed a ban on planting trees, shrubbery, or other flora in public right-of-ways. Some members felt small ornamentals could be fine, but others said things planted today could be problems tomorrow. The council will move forward with developing the language for the ordinance before holding any vote.
