Over the past two days, weve seen a father try to put his immeasurable pain into words. My family is one of the families that lost a child yesterday. My daughter, emilie, would be one of the first ones to be standing and giving her love and support to all those victims. Because thats the type of person she is. As the deep pain begins to settle into our hearts, we find comfort reflecting on the incredible person that emilie was. Weve also seen parents trying to find words to express their gratitude and their relief. Were very lucky that all the children, my son included, had the presence of mind to react appropriately and they basically ran right next to the guy and out the door. There will be more words, there will be more stories today as newtown and the rest of the nation try to make some sense out of this tragedy that took the lives of 20 children. Connecticut governor, dan malloy, says the 20yearold suspect shot his way into the school. Weve also learned that all 20 of the children killed inside were shot multiple times. All of them were six and seven years old. Investigators are still processing the crime scene. Physically and forensically. Police say they expect all questions surrounding the case will ultimately be answered because they have found certain evidence. Medical Examiners Office is starting to release the bodies of the 26 victims back to their families and funerals are expected to be held this week. The suspected gunmans father, peter lanza, is expressing condolences to the victims families. Released a statement saying quote, were in a state of disbelief. Trying to find whatever answers we can. We, too, are asking why. Weve cooperated fully with Law Enforcement and will continue to do so were saddened, but struggling to make sense of what has transpired. The verge of energy independence, whats going to happen to saudi arabia and what sort of impact are they going to have on the rest of the arab world . Saudi arabia has made it clear that in general with the exception of syria they are against what is going on in the arab world. They dont see this as a historical transformational process. They see this as an arab inferno, a revolutionary process that is going to really ruin the arab world, etc. And they see the world, i think, in terms of two prisms, if you will; a sunnishiite prism and a status quo change prism. And these are not always, you know, converging. And so in most of the arab world, they see it in terms of status quo versus change, and they have attempted to do so, to slow down the process if not reverse it altogether through basically financial means. Theyve done so in their own country, theyve done so in the gulf, theyre doing so with egypt where basically, now, theyve poured billions with of dollars not towards necessarily

So were waiting for those remarks. We want to bring in wolf blitzer to talk about this. We know there are some things that the president can do and other things he cannot do. He clearly has it to work with congress if hes going to move forward on gun legislation, but he can also carry out executive orders and shortterm measures that he can take. What do we expect in terms of the strength, the robust nature of these remarks that something really will be done and hes got the political will behind it.
