Rangers players reacted angrily to a comment – which was alleged to be a homophobic slur – by Gardyne during a Premiership match in Dingwall on Sunday, December 6. County launched an internal investigation into the incident and decided to take no action against their player – but he was cited by SFA compliance officer Clare Whyte last month. He was accused of breaching the SFA rule that says players and officials should not use “threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour”.
