There s nothing unfair about how Morelos is treated, says Matthew Lindsay Alfredo Morelos’s agent Michael Gorman made two points when he reacted to the appointment of the new SFA compliance officer on Twitter yesterday. One was, like a Morelos shot in an Old Firm game, well wide of the mark. The other was, like one of the Colombian’s attempts to score in a Europa League game, bang on target. Gorman expressed hope that the Rangers striker will receive “fair treatment” from Andrew Phillips, who the SFA have announced is to take over from Clare Whyte, in future.
Ross County midfielder Michael Gardyne and Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos in Dingwall last month. MCHAEL Gardyne, the Ross County midfielder, has been cleared of abusing Alfredo Morelos, the Rangers striker, after an SFA charge against him was dropped. Rangers players reacted angrily to a comment – which was alleged to be a homophobic slur – by Gardyne during a Premiership match in Dingwall on Sunday, December 6. County launched an internal investigation into the incident and decided to take no action against their player – but he was cited by SFA compliance officer Clare Whyte last month. He was accused of breaching the SFA rule that says players and officials should not use “threatening, abusive, indecent or insulting words or behaviour”.
