Published July 1, 2021 at 11:00 PM EDT WYSO Music On Demand provides your favorite locally-produced radio shows to stream for two weeks after they air! Listen to this episode of The Jewel Case, hosted by Tod Weidner: The Jewel Case: Encore Presentation - Punky Reggae Party - 7/1/21 Listen • 2:58:59 7.1.2021 Punky Reggae Party Bring your Doc Martens, your brothel creepers.whatever your preferred kicks for skanking may be as the Jewel Case throws a PUNKY REGGAE PARTY, to borrow a phrase from Bob Marley. Punk and reggae both give voice to the downtrodden and disaffected, and the combining of the two genres makes for some great, exciting sounds. Plus, we’ll say a fond farewell to João Gilberto, celebrate some notable birthdays, and generally run willy-nilly through the musical landscape.

WYSO s Best Of 2020: Tod Weidner

Fetch the Bolt Cutters (Epic/Clean Slate) This made my “what have you been listening to during lockdown?” list for WYSO last spring, and it made enough of an impression on me to finish in the year’s Top 10. Fiona Apple returns after an eight-year break with my favorite thing she’s ever done, a dense, claustrophobic, inventive album that she recorded mostly at her home. It’s a perfect soundtrack to quarantine. Not necessarily an easy, comfortable listen, but an extremely rewarding one. 4. Various Artists - La Locura de Machuca (1975-1980) (Analog Africa) Analog Africa is a great archival label; if it’s got their stamp on it, it’s worth checking out.

The Jewel Case: New Year s Resolutions - 12/31/20

Zoot Money’s Big Roll Band - Big Time Operator (HB Andy Summers) 12. Donna Summer - I Feel Love (7” version) (HB) 13. Blondie - Heart of Glass 14. Joe Jackson - Look Sharp! 15. Anthrax - Got The Time (HB Scott Ian)
