peter strzok actually manipulated the original flynn 302 to make it appear more damning as it related to flynn s answers about his contacts with the russian ambassador. now powell also references a purported conversation between former dni director james clapper and a washington post reporter where clapper instructs him to take the kill shot on flynn, a claim that clapperts denies. joining me now with reaction to these big developments is the attorney for michael flynn, sidney powell. sidney, thank you so much. i want toin go to that point which is made here. in your filing, to say that somebody is taking a kill shot is dramatic. in the filing, it says the defense has requested the phone records of james clapper to confirm his contact with washington post reporter ignatius, especially on january 10th, 2017, when clapper
communication to flynn, if you start sitting down, and behaving nicely, we ll take care of you later because it really does appear that he is completely backtracked and there s no question in my mind if he comes in front of the judge now, after basically blowing up this agreement, he gets sentenced to five years, right? i don t know that he would necessarily get five years, but he s definitely looking at jail time, and before prosecutors weren t even recommending that he get a prison sentence at all, and the judge that s handling flynn s case seemed to be surprised, maybe even angry by these developments. he issued an order saying he wants an explanation from the government by 5:00 p.m. today basically about whether flynn is still considered a cooperating witness. i do think the subject matter that flynn is supposedly getting shifty about in his testimony could ease the way for a pardon down the road. he s minimizing his conduct relating to being an agent for turkey during the presid
you re exactly right. these are two witnesses that are in a very different posture that other witnesses called by congress. they re still cooperating with the government. they still have this hammer hanging over their heads with a potential sentence. you remember at flynn s last appearance before the judge, when the judge was about to sentence him, it didn t seem to go as well as they thought it would go. the judge took a break and said i need to you go back and do a little more. you need to continue cooperating. it s a real threat hanging over them. they have an added insensitive to be cooperative with the house and provide testimony. i think you will see a very different picture with them. shannon, the president didn t just send a tweet supporting mike flynn, he gave a shot out to flynn s new lawyer, sidney powell. tell us who she is. president trump said she s a great lawyer. she s one of the fiercest critics of the mueller investigation. she actually sells t-shirts criticizin
