Lamosi was in New Zealand to work in Marlborough’s vineyards under the RSE scheme. Two other housemates, including the 22-year-old who dropped the pot lid, went outside to break the pair up. They managed to grab the 32-year-old away from Lamosi. Meanwhile, the 22-year-old pulled at Lamosi.
In the kitchen, he picked up a small knife and held onto it, a police summary of facts said. Lamosi, a Samoan man in New Zealand on the Recognised Seasonal Employer scheme, appeared at the Blenheim District Court on Monday.

Lamosi appeared at the Blenheim District Court on Monday. Through an interpreter, he pleaded guilty to two charges of wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Each charge carried a maximum penalty of 14 years’ imprisonment.
