Best new restaurants in the Capital Region | Best of 2021 winners

FacebookTwitterEmail Looking to try a new place to eat in the Capital Region? The results are in and these were the top restaurants that opened in the past year, as determined by voters in our annual Best of the Capital Region readers survey.  Color us unsurprised: The Tipsy Moose folks have been expert at galvanizing Best Of voters since the first Moose location opened in mid-2016 and easily took top honors in this category the following spring. The next several here also make sense: Toro Cantina is a huge Mexican place on Wolf Road, from the owner of Albany s luxe steakhouse 677 Prime. Of course, it s near the top. The Nest, a sibling of Albany s The Cuckoo s Nest, also run by get-out-the-vote owners? Naturally. Excellent lakeside place in Saratoga Springs? A shoo-in. But a gourmet doughnut shop in Kinderhook? In this company? Now we re surprised. Good for you, Cosmic Donuts.
