8:00 hour. temperatures, you know they re hot. 97 degrees today and winds out of the southwest at 10 miles per hour and that heat index still above 100 degrees and 103 in washington, 102 in baltimore and 111 in fredericksburg and we still have the heat advisory in effect, but guy, the storms mean we ll see things change a bit over the next couple of days and yesterday i told you, i didn t think we d get close to the record. we did it. i ll talk about it coming up. more to come. a lot of people had to deal most unfortunately with power outages in the heat. the lights and air-conditioning went out at the montgomery mall about noon today. some parts of the mall did have power and the mall did not close. pepco reported there was a problem with the circuit breaker. power was restored a few hours later. d.c. opened pools today to help keep people cool. right now the pools are supposed to be open only on weekends until june 21st. officials made an exception because of the high
