A retail plaza on Main Street in Holden center and nearly 18 acres of developable land behind it has sold for $2.2 million.
The site at 800 Main St. was bought by a limited liability corporation registered to Timothy Montalto of Callahan & Montalton Site Construction, which is based in the plaza. It was sold by Edith Morgan of Princeton in a deal that closed Dec. 1.
Included in the sale is nearly 18 acres of wooded land behind the plaza that Montalto said in an interview he has preliminary plans to develop as a housing site.
In addition to Callahan & Montalto, tenants for more than 20 years, the plaza includes the Wachusett Montessori School of Holden, a UPS Store, Edith s Flowers, Miracle-Ear Hearing Aid Center, Rob Roy Hair Salon, Full Circle Painting & Contracting and others. The site, with nearly 21,000 square feet of space, was last assessed by the Town of Holden at $1.5 million.
