Local roundup: Maranacook boys hang on for second victory over Leavitt
Black Bears jump out to big lead, but have to outlast Hornets to stay undefeated.

READFIELD Cash McClure scored 29 points as the Maranacook boys basketball team jumped out to a big lead, and then held on for a 76-71 victory over Leavitt on Wednesday.
Tim Worster had 15 and Casey Cormier scored 11 for the Black Bears (8-0), who beat the Hornets 70-52 on Friday. Maranacook was up by 25 in the third quarter, but had to withstand a late Leavitt rally.
Wyatt Hathaway scored 26 for Leavitt. Joziah Learned had 18 points and Ian Redstone scored nine.
