All-Region Boys Lacrosse Player of the Year: Oak Hill's Tiger Hopkins

• • • • Tim Worster, Maranacook/Winthrop/Spruce Mountain, midfielder After an undefeated regular season, his freshmen season ended earlier than expected, in the first round of the 2019 Class C playoffs. 2021 lacrosse overview: Central Maine teams eager to shake off the rust

Lacrosse at a glance Girls impact players: Gabby Smart, Messalonskee (Sr., MF); Shauna Clark, Messalonskee (Sr., MF); Sierra Clark, Cony (Sr., MF); Tiara Henry, Cony (Sr., MF) Emily Hersey, Lawrence (Jr., GK). Boys impact players: Luke Buck, Messalonskee (Sr., MF); Justin Bolduc, Winslow (Sr., A); Michael Nicholas, Erskine (Sr., A); Tim Worster, Maranacook/Winthrop (Sr., MF); Cam Rizzo, Gardiner (Jr., A). Top storylines: Avoiding a COVID-19 pause may come down to luck, but navigating a season in which teams can expect games postponed or cancelled will be a key. With teams playing more regionally-based schedules, will new rivalries emerge? Changes: The biggest change is the wearing of masks at all times. Athletes who competed in winter sports should have an easier time adjusting. For boys lacrosse players wearing helmets, keeping the mask from sliding down could prove difficult. It will be up to officials and coaches to help make sure masks are always worn properly.
